Sarah,A card that looks like an SD card, but without the switch, is called a "MMC" or "Multi-Media card". What the heck could be wrong? Use the following resources to restore that lost space, if possible. After messing with the little lock with a tooth pick the camera read the mem card....WoW. If you take out the memory card and look at it... I fixed the lock switch with a drop of superglue and the problem was gone. I have previously downloaded pics from the SD card, but now realise I had not formatted it first.
