Setup cannot continue. I replaced the HDD, ran some scans to make sure the HDD was efficient, and began my install of Windows XP Professional. The error code is 4I needed to install a new OS and I disabled any cacheing and didn't work for me (new motherboard, new memory and new Harddrive). Thank You!! It turned out to be a bad CD burner. They said make a boot disk from this website and run the tests to make sure all is in order. I will be testing this problem when I get home and will keep you updated on my progress.
during the "loading Kernel debugger dll" during setup. I install it, and before I can install windows, I have to install SATA drivers during setup. the install disc is giving the above error (setupdd.sys could not be loaded. http://wx2me.com/error-code/setupdd-sys-error-code-4-xp.php Boot from a 98se floppy disk, and run fdisk, its included in the 98 boot disk.
