I have to say though, please add a caution to be gentle while doing the suggested tapping part. My daughter dropped her Casio Exilim EXZ75 and came to me saying 'Daddy please fix.' I did everything up to the tapping step, which worked, however, when the lens finally opened I had no picture, it was just white. oh my goodness...thank you so much for the poost! When you turn the camera on with the card removed it may come back to life, as this triggers a reset in some cameras. I found bits of foreign material inside the lens assembly, and jammed in between the gear teeth.
