These materials love to cling to the camera by electrostatic build-up from the camera rubbing against the side of the case (especially those cases with soft fibrous intreriors). Like i've been working on sophisticated electro-mechanical systems for over half a century [AEROSPACE]. For those people, here are two totally unrelated videos (to this subject) on video editing using freeware. Maybe it will work. news it dropped on the ground on top of the lens and the camera completely shut off and the lens is now halfway extended outward and it doesnt let the camera go
They're pretty much the best option if you need to have a Canon repaired. Use very little of this. The lens retracted all the way - but then extended half-way again. Matias,As mentioned, these fixes only seem to work for less than half of lens errors.
this is the second time this has happened, and I used your techniques to fix it. The lens will get stuck in the extended position, and refuse to move either to focus the lens or to retract when powered off. I tend to carry the camera by the lens. powershot A95.
