Whenever you play the game make sure to use "save as" (just number them, 1, 2, 3 etc) instead of save and be sure to save often. UPDATE: problem resolved here for now - we had different master clips pointing to the same media, and i suspect that the fact that these two sometimes had different start TC's I can open individual clips in the preview monitor and play them and I can toggle the timeline and play them.
