If it gets gummed up with dried ink, the jets won't be wiped off properly.

Sometimes you might have to use the fluids several times to be able to dissolve the clog in the print head nozzles. Hope this helps.
You would have to remove the printers "Top Cover" to be able to shine a flashlight in to possibly see the arm of the paper jam sensor. Any hints on performing a carriage-ectomy on this C84? It includes a syringe and some epson print head cleaning solution, which is designed to dissolve most clogs, especially if you were using epson inks. I reconnected the hose and was able to clean the heads and use the printer again. Blow the water out of the tubes without putting your mouth on them. (You don't want any saliva in them.) Let everything air dry.
Before I tried to install the Basix black ink cartridge, my color inks all worked fine. The air and ink will flow out of the cartridge through this tube into your ink bottle so you don't waste any ink. The paper and power lights are blinking and the ink light are on.
